Living in a land-locked state, we’re always more than willing to hangout in beach towns. San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua was one of our favorite little towns so far. It has a slight touch of touristy things, but still has great local charm. The town sits on a calm fishing harbor with a quiet beach. San Juan del Sur is full of great little restaurants. There are also several surfing beaches within an hour’s drive. Meggan and I took a surf lesson and both of us were actually able to surf. We had a great instructor, Codo. The swells were pretty small, perfect for learning.
