I am not sure if it was the long days of travel or the immediate sense of relaxation that came over me after arriving, but it took me a good day and a half to realize that Ilha Grande has no cars. Island time is definitely in full effect here and that is exactly what the doctor order for both Beau and I. For being the biggest island off Brazil, we were pleasantly surprised to see how few people actually live here. Beautiful secluded beaches are as easy to find as Caprianas, which is the local adult beverage of choice. For a few Real (Brazilian currency) you can take a boat to a beautiful beach to snorkle, surf, eat a great meal, or hire a guide to take you on a jungle trek. Just remember your sunscreen and bug spray… and get ready for a great time Brazilian style!
