Brick dormer structures are scattered along the banks of the Mekong Delta.  These structures are the kilns of brick and paver factories.  The bricks are made from the clay dredged from the silt of the delta.  The kilns burn rice husk, a by-product from all the rice patties in the area.  This makes for a very sustainable product made from the natural surroundings.
We visited one of these little factories to learn the production process.  Forming, firing, stacking and transporting these heavy products is excruciating work for very little pay.  The factory workers were so incredibly gracious and friendly to us camera slinging tourists.  The brick factory was another great place to capture.  We loved the light in the warehouse, the colorful printed outfits and the patterns of the bricks.
